Merz to launch a pilot project to collect data from printing machines for TYPOS |
The company Typos has decided to use the experience and knowledge of Merz to implement a pilot project of production data collection, from the printing machine KBA RA 142-5. In subsequent phases of the project, gradual expansion to other machines is expected. The data will be used to monitor the performance of machines in continuous operation. In phase 1, the data will be presented in proprietary customer ERP, in the TYPOS system.
The implementation of this solution will mainly provide information on the precise machine performance over time, facilitating staff motivation thanks to its ability to evaluate the performance of shifts, as well as individual employees.
In the future it will be possible to extend the solution to other machines, and to allow monitoring of other data (idle time, machine cycle). The gained information will help to introduce TOC and lean manufacturing methodologies and it will provide an instant overview of the line condition. The whole solution can be supplemented by the MPortal system that will allow easy creation and provision of various reports and surveys. |
