Merz begins data collection project from OPEL ASTRA line for Magna Exteriors & Interiors |
Merz has been given the task of implementing a data collection system at Magna Exteriors & Interiors. The purpose of the data collection is to implement a 100% inspection of parking sensors PAS, APAS (BOSCH), and license plate lighting on the Opel Astra rear bumper assembly line.
Thanks to this project implementation, Magna Exteriors & Interiors will acquire:
- accurate measurement of parking sensors with history;
- accurate measurement of machine performance over time;
- accurate measurement of quality over time;
- increased staff motivation;
- accurate identification of parts and personnel;
- secured technological discipline.
In the future, the solution can be extended to other lines and other manufacturing operations in process. The project will help Magna Exteriors & Interiors to introduce TOC and lean manufacturing methodologies and will provide an instant overview of the line condition. |
